Sneak Peeks – Essence 2013

Sadly no release in the Netherlands but these will be out in Germany December 2013
No clue if this collection will be released in the Netherlands but it’s certainly cute and looks like it would work well for Valentines day.
These are planned for a January release just like the Vintage District collection:

And lastly, planned for the second half of January and first half of Febuary is the Snow Jam Collection, again not sure if this will come to the Netherlands yet, but I’ll keep you posted:
Yep, it’s small and it looks like the text is in Russian or Ukrainian but it’s the best I can do right now.
But look closely on the left of all these, there will be at least 3 to 4 new Limited Edition nail polishes with this set of collections and I have to say, I’m loving the blues and purples!
Hopefully when the press release comes for these I’ll be able to tell you more about these little collections and show you the colors a bit better.

Creamy neutrals. Rich jewel tones. Pull out your lederhosen, because this Fall OPI is taking you back to Europe with the Germany Collection by O.P.I! These are the 12 colors from left to right, from top to bottom:

- Berlin There Done That,
- Dont Talk Bach to Me,
- Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!,
- Schnapps Out of It,

Some of these names just made me laugh out loud, and I’m not sure what to think about the colors just yet. I’d like to see some swatches first before I’m convinced I guess.

The next Essence collection was just revealed here in the Netherlands via a press release and they have picked a very cute theme this time that fits Spring that at the makes you long for summer: Fruity!
This collection does not only have 5 lovely polishes but also some other nice nail related goodies, keep reading and I will introduce you to all of it.
First up though, I have five cute and fruity nail polishes to show you, namely:
- 01 Banana Joe,
- 02 Peach Beauty,
- 03 Very Cherry,
- 04 One Kiwi A Day…
- 05 Mashed Berries.
As you can see in the close up pictures on the right (click it to enlarge) there are 2 creams and three glittery polishes in this mini collection. And I have to say, I do like the little touch of using different types of glitters for the polishes. The Kiwi green one has a different glitter shape than the Cherry and Berries ones, which is a nice little detail I think.
That’s not all in the nail department by the way as they are also releasing a cute little set of fimo cane slices that looks like sliced fruit called “Nail Fruits” that comes with its own nail glue. Because the slices are of course a bit thicker than say a striper line or some dots you make with a naildotter they have added a Nail Art sealing topcoat called “Stay Fruity” to the collection.
Now we come to something I am quite excited about: With this collection they’re also releasing a scented topcoat called ”Smells like strawberry…“ that… you guessed it; smells like fresh strawberries! I am so going to have to chase this one down because I am very much into fruity scents and how fun will it be to have a yummy scent coming from your nails all day?
The Essence Fruity collection will be exclusively for sale at Kruidvat & Trekpleister from halfway April until May 2012 here in the Netherlands.
So, what are your thoughts on this collection? I myself will probably only grab the topcoat but I do think that if I like it that I will grab several.

I like the Blue Raspberry Taffy, and the Lemon Sour & Circus Peanuts look interesting, but with those colors I always wonder if they’ll be opaque enough.
All in all I’m not blown away but who knows, swatches might make me think otherwise.

Chanel have released the details of their new spring/summer 2012 Les Vernis nail colours, and they of course sound as covetable as ever! And there are not just the three that have already been announced, but also a surprise fourth color!
There were several colours that were featured that have only just been created but were in action at the spring/summer 2012 show earlier during fashion week. One of them was the pearlised white polish that was created especially for the show by Peter Philips; Chanel make-up’s creative director.
In addition to Attraction, spring/summer 2012 brings three new shades named April, May and June.
April is a rich fuchsia, May is a pretty shell pink and June a summery tangerine.
What do you all think of these? And what’s your favorite of the set?
China Glaze – Colours from the Capital.
Lionsgate and China Glaze have finally released the official color palette and names from their Hunger Games nail polish collection. “Colours from the Capitol” is inspired solely by Panem’s lavish, beauty-obsessed Capitol. I have not read the books (yet) so it was interesting to read how obsessed with everything the Capitol is in one of the quotes in the press release: “Awash in lavish fashion, food, and entertainment, Capitol citizens enjoy extreme cosmetics and body modifications, bold wigs, and outlandish costumes.”
You’ll see in the photo above that they’ve used the same twelve colors from the original leak and renamed them—and to be honest, I’m quite happy about that because they’ve picked some gorgeous colors for this collection. And look, there even is a flakie it seems!
What’s also cool is that while the colors might be linked to the Capitol, they’re also very clearly influenced by the twelve districts of Panem. Here’s the breakdown:
- Luxe and Lush – District 1 (Luxury)
- Stone Cold – District 2 (Masonry)
- Riveting – District 3 (Technology)
- Hook and Line – District 4 (Fishing)
- Electrify – District 5 (Power)
- Fast Track – District 6 (Transportation)

- Dress Me Up – District 8 (Textiles)
- Harvest Moon – District 9 (Grain)
- Foie Gras – District 10 (Livestock)

I’ve got to say I love all the shimmers and creams, I’m not a bit fan of glitter polish but I do like that flakie and would love to see how it layers over the other colors. What do you think of this collection?
Amazing news from OPI!
O.P.I. is releasing an amazing collection I will certainly try to get every bottle of because… IT HAS A DUTCH THEME!
If you didn’t know this yet, I’m Dutch, so you know… this is kind of a big deal to me! Okay, enough small talk, I’m sure you’re curious about the colors and their names, so let’s just go to the first pictures that have been released:

Essence has four new nail polishes coming to you this September. The collection ranges from beautiful shades from olive green to apricot, for a natural elegance and perfect shiny nails! By the way, the names they’ve picked for the colors are absolutely adorable.

On the product pictures the shades look like a lovely almost pastel colored metallic polish to me and I am already certain I will buy them all. Wouldn’t you for just €1,79 a piece?
Essence is also releasing two new nail fashion gel stickers with this collection.
The first one is called ‘Tree time‘ and the one on the right is called ’Flower power‘. I love that one of them is opaque and the other seems to be see through, which means that you can probably combine it fabulously with one of the nailpolishes. And for only €1,99 it’s not a bad thing to try out at all! This collection doesn’t just come with the polishes and stickers only; There are many wonderful make up products to be discovered and even some cute jewelry that I am certain many of my beautyblogcolleagues will be writing about soon.

While surfing the web for exciting new nail polish goodies to tell you all about I came across the announcement of latest Essence collection called “Ballerina Backstage”.
Now I don’t know about you, but since the movie ‘Black Swan’ my view of ballet has changed from little girls dressed in baby pinks and tutus to something more intense. Something darker, more vivid and grown up. And this upcoming collection by Essence reflects this perfectly. Not only does it have eye & blush souffles, lip gloss, false nails and even an adorable headband, this collection also has 5 delicious new polish colors to choose from. From sweet pinks and corals to strong colors like a black with peach colored shimmers and a bright fuchsia.
The names of the polishes alone already tickle your imagination. What do you think of the name ‘Grand-plié in black’ for instance? Or what about the name ‘On your gracile tiptoe’? Aren’t you just curious already? I know I am! I can’t wait to see the colors in real life when this collection hits the shelves in August this year. I plan to pick up the black for certain as black with colored glitters like these are usually very special and hard to come by.
