Color Club Halo Hues collection sneek peek!

Finally, the polish world has listened to our prayers, we’re getting more holographic polishes! And soon too!

Color Club is releasing the Halo Hues collection this month, which means they’re beating China Glaze to the punch which are set to release a set in the spring of 2013. Very smart thinking you guys! The polish world obviously needs a little bit of competition. That way more companies should catch on and before you know it every brand will have some holographics, just like that whole (in my opinion) horrible crackle fad caught on last time.

There will be six polishes in this collection and dear god I want them all!

From left to right:

  • Harp On It
  • Cloud Nine
  • Halo-Graphic
  • Blue Heaven
  • Cherubic
  • Angel Kiss

I seriously am anxious for these to come out, even more so than the upcoming extensive OPI James Bond collection I think! I LOVE me some holo and I don’t think you could ever have enough holographic polishes as a nail polish lover.

Do you have any holographics?

Essence trend edition: New in Town

Colour your town! Cool painted nails are on trend in all cities of the world. The Essence Trend Edition – New In Town nail polishes with new XXXL brush provide for a uniform, simple and even quicker job – for trendy nails with only a brush! They are also fast drying, long-lasting and dry to a high-gloss finish.

Available in five trendy colors:
  • 108 ultimate pink
  • 131 ballerina’s charme
  • 133 oh my glitter!
  • 142 grey-t to be here!
  • 143 I’m the boss
This collection is going to be released in Germany August 2012. And these polishes will be in the core collection come fall, they also showcase the new bottleshape essence has picked for their Colour & Go bottles. This collection will not be released in the Netherlands, where I live, but I’m pretty certain that we will get these colors eventually as they will be part of the core polish collection.
I personally am not crazy about the bottle shape, sure it’s cute but it takes up much needed space in my polish collection by giving them that hourglass shape. I’d rather they fill up that space with more polish if you know what I mean.
On a brighter note though, it looks like the polish on the far right which I believe might be called I’m the boss may be a darker dupe of Illamasqua’s beloved and hard to find Raindrops so I will certainly picking that beauty up!

What do you think of the new bottles?

Catrice: Out with the old, in with the new!

Catrice is dropping a few colors this year and gaining a few as well, if you want to know which ones you need to run out to buy look at this chart.

  • 220 Lost in Mud
  • 330 Absolutely Chincilly!
  • 410 Pool Party at Night
  • 560 Rusty but Sexy
  • 610 ASHley
  • 620 Captain Sparrow’s Boat
  • 630 Sing: Hey Dirty- Lilah!
  • 670 It’s Rambo No. 5
  • 700 Birdy Reloaded!
  • 860 Browno Mars
I may just run out and get a few of these before they’re all gone come August 2012.
Don’t be too sad about these leaving though as there are going to be some beauties that will be replacing these, feast your eyes on these pretties:

Colors pictured are:

  • 865 yellow sub-mandarin
  • 870 Copper Cabana
  • 875 It’s all I can Blue
  • 880 No Snow Petrol
  • 890 How I Matt your mother
  • 895 I am a Lob-Star
  • 900 Steel my heart
  • 905 Steel my soul
  • 910 Oh My Goldness!
  • 915 George Blueney

And there’s also one new polish waiting to be added to the ultimate nudes collection called 100 Sky & Seine which I’ve pictured on the right here. I do not know if it will be replacing one of the other colors or if it’s just an addition. We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

Are you going to run out and get the ones that will be dropped from the core collection soon, or are you anxious for them to go so you can get the new colors? I have to say I am excited about Steel my Heart as it looks a little like a darker version of Dirty Berry and I just keep cracking up about George Blueney so I certainly need that one. From the older ones I might pick up a few before they go, haven’t decided yet.

And you? What’s on your wishlist?

Essie Fall 2012 Stylenomics collection.

I just ran into this while reading one of my nail magazines and I couldn’t wait to share!

These will by out August 1st 2012 in the United States.

You can buy these individually but there is also a 4 pack of mini’s coming out containing the following colors:

  • Skirting the Issue
  • Stylenomics
  • Don’t Sweater it
  • Head Mistress.

I personally like all but Head Mistress so I might just get this. (Unless I just buy the full sized bottles of Skirting the Issue and Stylenomics…)

Do you have any Essies and what is your favorite color?

Coming soon: Catrice Cucuba!

The range of nail colors in this collection is influenced by the colors of Cuba: warm shades such as bright yellow and two different browns are complemented by coral and mint green. These colors underline your summer style and are an ideal match for the other products in this Limited Edition. The new extrabroad brush guarantees an even more professional color application across your entire nail with just one stroke of the brush.

  • Sunny Side - A lovely shimmery yellow
  • Reggeaton - A beautiful shimmery brown
  • Salsa Cubana - A soft peachy polish
  • Havana Drum - A light nude-ish brown
  • Take it Mint - A wonderful innocent mint

I do think I’ll be picking up the lovely mint color, and I will have to see the yellow and brown in real life as it looks like the yellow has micro flakies and the brown has some holographic pigment in there on the product pictures. But other than that I think I’ll let this collection pass. Unless of course they impress me the moment I see them for myself in the shop when they are released halfway this August.

How about you, what do you think of this set?

New Essence trend edition: Miami Roller Girl preview.

This summer is all about brights and Essence is staying on trend by releasing four new bright colors with their Miami Roller Girl trend edition.

Available in Germany from July to August.

The trend edition will be also be available in: Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Turkey, Egypt, Ethiopia, Taiwan, Pakistan, Peru, Ecuador and Chile, though I am not certain what the release date there will be.

01 bienvenido a miami

02 miami p’ink

03 four wheel drive

04 miami heat.

I’m curious to see swatches of these as Neons usually have the strange habit of drying matte. These are rumored to be high gloss polishes with real staying power. Also in this product picture the Orange seems to have a metallic shimmer to it. Will these all have a shimmer and will they be slightly sheer or will these be nice opaque creams? I can’t wait to find out!

What do you think of this Neon trend sweeping the nail polish nation? Are you all for it, or are you more subdued in your color picks when it comes to nail polish?

YSL has done it again!

While I am all still enjoying the color blocking trend with bright colors that is currently going on in the fashion world, luxury cosmetics and high fashion brand Yves Saint Laurent has already caught my attention.  How did they do it?  By releasing the product pictures of a gorgeous new Autumn/winter collection called “the Midnight Garden” created by top designer Lloyd Simmons.

Aren’t they stunning? The top deep blue color is called Moonlight Blue and the lighter, almost teal color below that is called Wintergreen. Both have a light shimmer effect and I’m sure everyone knows that it will look amazing on your nails.

With its beautiful deep, dark colors – that have clearly been inspired by hot house gardens, tropical flowers and exotic birds – it gives an overall fantasy winter garden effect.  It is quite the contrast with the current corals, bright yellows and other neon colors we have seen on the fashion runways for this season and I love it!

Along with the polishes, YSL will release six new ‘Rouge Volupte Perle’ colors for the lips, the stunning ‘Ombres 5 Le Lumieres’ eyeshadow palette and six ‘le Blush Radiance’ blushes.   These will all hit a store near you (depending on where you live) this July and will cost about €35.

What do you think of these polishes? Are you thinking about getting these or will you admire them from afar?

Catrice – Trend Edition Modern Muse‏ nailpolishes

German cosmetics brand Catrice will soon be launching their ‘Modern Muse’ Limited Edition collection which is an interpretation of the legendary style icons of the sixties; a style Catrice has dubbed modern sixties glamour.

By the looks of it the main colors are beautiful shimmery metallics like bronze, gold and silver. Now I don’t know about you, but I love the look of a nice metallic polish on my nails – so I am really excited for this collection to come out!

On to the details! This polish promises complete coverage  in one coat and on top of that they say it will stay on for 7 days. I shall, of course, be testing this as soon as I get my hands on these so I’ll tell you all about it once I know more. Personally, I like all five glorious colors in this collection. And at only €2,49 a bottle I might just buy them all.

The entire ‘Modern Muse’ collection will be hitting the shelves midway through August and will only be out for two months. If you have a hard time getting your hands on them in August when they are first released, fear not for Catrice will graciously add them to their regular collection this fall as well.

Will you be buying any of these colors? Or are the classic reds and pinks more your thing?

Essence – Ballerina backstage collection

While surfing the web for exciting new nail polish goodies to tell you all about I came across the announcement of latest Essence collection called “Ballerina Backstage”.
Now I don’t know about you, but since the movie ‘Black Swan’ my view of ballet has changed from little girls dressed in baby pinks and tutus to something more intense. Something darker, more vivid and grown up. And this upcoming collection by Essence reflects this perfectly. Not only does it have eye & blush souffles, lip gloss, false nails and even an adorable headband, this collection also has 5 delicious new polish colors to choose from. From sweet pinks and corals to strong colors like a black with peach colored shimmers and a bright fuchsia.

The names of the polishes alone already tickle your imagination.  What do you think of the name ‘Grand-plié in black’ for instance? Or what about the name ‘On your gracile tiptoe’? Aren’t you just curious already? I know I am! I can’t wait to see the colors in real life when this collection hits the shelves in August this year.  I plan to pick up the black for certain as black with colored glitters like these are usually very special and hard to come by.

Will you be getting something from this gorgeous limited edition collection?
