China Glaze releases the Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away collection.

I’ve known about this collection for a few months now but was asked to not speak about these just yet as China Glaze was keeping these under wraps for just a little longer…, and boy was it hard to keep these to myself because man, aren’t they interesting? To me the larger glitters look like something a lot of polish lovers have been buying from the Indie Polish makers and now China Glaze is bringing this amazing look to the general public as well, I love it!
There are 12 colors in this collection as you can see in the collage I made of them up here, and these are their names:

I’ll be curious to see what the swatches of this collection will be like and what everyone’s favorites will be.
What are your thoughts of this little set? Is this a must have or a must pass for you?
For those interested in buying these, Transdesign has the collection up already!
You are not alone
Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are thankfully residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.
As members of the nail polish community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color and even to our polish application techniques. To look down on anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people’s view of “normal” dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.
In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.
My experience with bullying, where do I start… and how do I tell, because honestly, it seems like I’ve stopped remembering it all.
I’ve never been a skinny girl, ever. And I’ve been bullied a lot because of that when I was a child and early teen. But because I felt my parents had gone through a lot already as they lost two children before having me, I decided never to tell them. I wanted to protect them but never had the courage to protect myself. Had I known what I know now, that not telling them and them finding out later hurt them even more, I of course would have told them all about it. But hindsight is always 20/20 right? Nothing I can do about it now and it still hurts them to this day that I kept quiet about it. That being said, I don’t think anyone deals with bullying easily, well maybe the bullies do, but certainly not the victims or their loved ones.
On to the manicure! Today I am wearing a purple nail polish gradient with a Lotus painted on it to show the victims of bullies that they’re not alone and that they too can grow past this moment. You see the ancient wisdom of the Hindus teaches that life has to be lived to evolve. Staying in deep slush if needed, like the lotus does, and using the same slush to evolve better and better, the mud the flower grows from slides off and will stay on the bottom as the lotus rises above it. The deeper the slush, better and stronger the flower.
If you are experiencing bullying of any kind, online or in real life, please know that there are people there to help and that you’re not alone. Hang in there, it will get better eventually, I promise.

Remember remember, the 8th of November!
Thursday November 8th will be a special day, a day where many bloggers will unite against bullying in their own special way. I will be creating a special purple nail art to raise awareness that bullying is always going on but often hidden by both bullies and victims. Showing them that we care will hopefully cause them to think and maybe, just maybe, we can make it a little less bad.

(Here’s a translation for the fellow Dutch/Belgian dutch speaking bloggers who would like to participate as well:
A sweet friend of mine wrote this statement and I hope that you will copy it to your blog, that way the statement will be clear to others and we all form one front against the bullies. It would also be awesome if you linked to the http://
There will also be inlinkz provided (which looks a little something like this: http://www.nailingthis.com/
This all started in the nailpolish blogging community, but you are more than welcome to give your own twist on it, if you want to do a make up look using purples, go right ahead! I hope to see a lot of you participating and I also hope you spread the word!
See you all on my blog this Thursday where I will show you my personal experience with bullying and of course my purple manicure. Thank you for listening!
Catrice Big City Life part 2!
Catrice will be releasing yet another Big City Life collection this October, this time highlighting Paris, San Francisco and Shanghai.
Let’s take a quick look at the polishes:
The sugary sweet pink of Paris Macarons, the blue of the San Francisco bay and the golden shine of Shanghai are perfectly represented in each polish but it’s not something we haven’t seen before I don’t think. IF I were to buy these I’d buy them for the packaging but not for the color I don’t think. But who knows, I may change my mind if I run into them when they’re out.
What do you think? Do these three polishes tickle your fancy?
Get Teeezed in the boudoir!
Dutch cosmetics brand TEEEZ has recently come out with a wonderful new collection called Boudoir Secrets. And I just have to tell you about it
because not only is this new collection is decorated with a gorgeous print that has gems and cameo jewelry ll over the packaging of the 4 different products. But it also a reminder of the abundance 18th century queen of France Marie Antoinette must have lived in, a rebellious diva who had a passion for the pleasures in life. I love that, the opulence of that time and the sultry style of this collection make a gorgeous combination that I just have to share with you all.
The Boudoir Secrets collection consists of a Bold Eyeliner Pencil, French Kiss Lip Gelée, Boudoir Mascara and of course Couture Nail Lacquer. Renewed formulas, seductive colors and unique packaging make this collection to a serious must have for a sensual and elegant look this holiday season.
Now I wouldn’t have a nail blog if I didn’t want to share the lovely set of 8 new polish colors with you. This set of nail lacquers has 4 rich colors and 4 lovely more muted pastels as you can see on the picture below:
The Couture Nail Lacquers one by one:
- First in the set is Femme Fatale 09, which seems to be a re-release that first was a bit more red but has now morphed into a creamy pink color.
- After that we have Smooth 08 which is not to be confused with the holo lacquer they have called Smooth 01! This seems to be a pink colored cream.
- Outta control 07 is my favorite color of them all, and I’m sure you can guess why, yep it’s a lovely violet cream.
- Icy 02 is a semi transparent lacquer with ultra fine pearl particles. It makes the surface of your nails very smooth, leaving a soft layer like Gel Nails, for an elegant finish.
- Rebel 12 is a gorgeous coral that is sure to look beautiful on your nails during these cool winter days where you need a bit of warmth in your color palette.
- Gutsy 05 can only be described as a rich salmon pink cream that is just a bit darker than a nude but certainly looks to be a nice neutral color to wear.
- Cool 04 is a very soft light baby blue, a color that not everyone can rock but if you can I’m sure it will quickly become one of your favorites.
- And last but not least Free 06, a nice khaki color that is right in between an army green and a grey.
All of these powerful pastels have been directly translated from the latest catwalk trends. And with this new collection Teeez is also introducing an unique formulation: the lacquers leave a thick but smooth layer on the nails, which almost like a Gel Nail effect. They apply thick but are said to be quick drying and will last up to 5 days without chipping! I will of course test this out as soon as I get my hands on one of these.
The polishes are Big 3 Free (free from hazardous ingredients dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde) by they way and have a thick flat brush.
Another wonderful bit of info is that they are fragrance free: therefore suitable for people with a sensitive skin. And one last bit of info but to me one of the most important things is that they have not been tested on animals.
If you want to find out more about this particular brand just visit their website at http://www.teeez.eu, you can also use the site look up if there’s a store that sells Teeez near you!
Are you interested in this new collection or will you be skipping this one? If so, why?
