The O.P.I. Germany fall 2012 collection – a first look!
Published March 26, 2012
First it was the Netherlands with the more than fabulous O.P.I. Holland collection, now Germany is being honored by O.P.I. with their own range of nail polishes!
Creamy neutrals. Rich jewel tones. Pull out your lederhosen, because this Fall OPI is taking you back to Europe with the Germany Collection by O.P.I! These are the 12 colors from left to right, from top to bottom:
- My Very First Knockwurst,
- Don’t Pretzel My Buttons,
- Berlin There Done That,
- Dont Talk Bach to Me,
- Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!,
- Schnapps Out of It,
- Suzi & The 7 Dusseldorfs,
- Every Month is Oktoberfest,
- Unfor-greta-bly Blue,
- Deutche You Want Me Baby*,
- Danke-Shiny Red
- German-icure by OPI.
(*=I hope that is a spelling mistake of the person that posted this as it should totally be ‘Deutsch’)
Some of these names just made me laugh out loud, and I’m not sure what to think about the colors just yet. I’d like to see some swatches first before I’m convinced I guess.
I have found a few more pictures and even a release date, scroll down to see when these are out.
Release date: August 8, 2012
What do you guys think? Are these a must have for you? Or quite possibly a must pass?

MMmh the metallic/shimmers look way better than the drab neutrals, a lot of them look similar to OPI shades I already have so I will wait to see swatches before I get too excited!
Thanks for the first scoop on this :) xxx
They do, but yes, I’ve got a feeling I’ve seen a lot of these colors before, so I will not be buying the entire collection this time (I did that with the Hollands because I’m Dutch and was able to get a good deal) but these don’t grab me just yet. But who knows, maybe soon swatches will pop up and we will want these, you never know with O.P.I. ;)
the yellow looks nice! I’m also waiting for the swatches! Thanks for the info, Claudia!!
I’m very curious about the yellow as well. I can’t wear them usually but I don’t have a mustardy yellow like this yet so I’m quite tempted by it ;)
I am very insterested in a few(the yellow-ish, the dark grey on top, the oranges)! Some of them appear to be re-promotes (the first 3 on the top row) Either way we won’t know the winners & must haves until they are released.
Thanks for posting this! I love new collections to look forward too!
You make such a valid and interesting point there, I also wondered if they were either leftovers from the NYC ballet collection that’s coming up or something else. They just seem to be such odd ducks in this otherwise quite vibrant collection no?
And you are welcome! Learning about a new collection is also one of my favorite things :) especially when I get to share it with other nail polish lovers ;)
Allemaal zulke mooie kleurtjes.
Liefs, xxx
These are pretty, but I agree with people that have said a lot of the shades look similar to other OPI colours – that said I still love the look of the dark grey and the shimmery purple (can you ever really have enough purples??) :) Eve http://www.practicingpretty.wordpress.com
ROFLMAO!!!
i’ll see if i can get my hands on “deutsche you want me baby”. :)
You know you were the first one I thought about when I found out about this collection ;P
why thanky you! :*
the names are HI-LA-RIOUS! and i was actually wondering if there ever will be a german collection when i saw the dutch one here on your site. – the dutch collection had more beautiful colours though. ;)
I like the neutrals and the green. The names are positively irresistible! :-)
Ik vind de twee linkse van de onderste rij ontzettend vette kleurtjes.. ik hou wel van donker!!
Sie benötigen Deutsch-Klassen, Mädchen. Anyways, looove the OPI German Collection!!!
Die namen, geweldig!!
i will be broke thanks to this!!! love :)
i need to see swatches before i decide what ones i really need…
but at first glance, i need the “suzi” one. ;)
I want them all!
I’m not sure at all about the names this time and I bought OPI polishes just for their names before. I am German and I don’t think most of those are funny at all – but I like “Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok fine” (both name and colour
These names are hilarious: “Berlin There done that” and ”Schnapps out of it” and others (… in case somebody is looking for the “punch line”) were taken from the expressions “been there done that” and “snap out of it etc. I mean these are really clever names. Suzy (from OPI), you are brillant!!!
